An Intensive: 70 hours of learning
A post by Jenna Wilcox, PAA Artistic Director.
You may be wondering why we call our summer programs intensives. The name comes from the intense effort and learning that takes place in 10 short days. Our curriculum driven class time builds fundamental skills needed for all performers and technical workers and drives self confidence through learning. With each day and each class we build on new skills and add complexity to match any student at any level, ensuring growth and challenge for every student who works with us.
In addition, our teaching artists are professionals and top educators from our community. They bring their own life experience and work in the arts to each Intensive, offering a unique and personalized perspective to the effort and diligence required to work in the performing arts. Learning at this level means our students can take their experience with us and apply it to any aspect of life and learning. This, in part, is how our students become a better version of themselves with each and every Intensive.
