SPRING PERFORMANCE CLASSES

Our Performance Classes will meet twice a week for 60 or 90 minutes, with either smaller casts or multiple casts, depending on the show. Working with these smaller groups allows us to:

  • Meet gathering restrictions as dictated by the state
  • Extend more individualized instruction from our professional teaching artists
  • Provide more role opportunities for each student
  • Maintain adequate social distancing during rehearsals and performances.

In order to focus on the student experience, and in keeping with safety and hygiene practices as we continue to combat Covid-19, each cast will have a performance (live-streamed, recorded, or with a small audience depending on the show and gathering restrictions at the time), and will include minimal tech, sets, costumes, and props. We are excited for the opportunities this format will allow us in regards to student learning and engagement.

For all Performance Classes:

Placement auditions for all performance classes will be held on Saturday, January 9 from 9 – 3:30 pm. A link to sign up for auditions will be sent to students once they have registered.

Students audition prior to the start of the program, however, upon enrollment, every student has a place in the cast. The auditions allow the teaching artists to find the best role for each student.

Auditions have music, dance, and acting sections, and are structured to provide a supportive atmosphere where students are encouraged to be brave and show the artistic team engagement, willingness to learn, and a positive, collaborative spirit. No previous experience is needed.
