Jungle Book was a Howlin’ Great Time!
A guest post by Melanie Kirkpatrick, PAA Site Director.
PAA’s first intensive of the summer wrapped up on Friday, June 13, and a great time was had by all!
More than 225 friends, family and members of the community crowded into the East Elementary gymnasium to watch our 38 students sing, dance and act their way through the Jungle Book story. After two weeks of hard work, during which time the kids took classes, learned their music and choreography, this talented crew of 2nd – 6th graders wowed the audience with their energy and spirit.
PAA has doubled its enrollment over the course of the last two years, and with that growth, we’ve had to find more space. East Elementary was a welcome and gracious host for our first off-site intensive. Those students that were returning to our program had the opportunity to work in a new location, and the students from East who were participating in PAA for the first time had the opportunity to experience just how intense (and amazing!) an intensive can be.
We look forward to going back next year!!
