PAA Student on Broadway

At just 7 years old, Blake Taylor began his PAA journey at our very first location—St. Luke’s UMC on South Broadway. His debut performance was in The Lion King Jr., followed by other productions, including Willy Wonka KIDS and Frozen KIDS.

As his love for musical theatre grew, Blake continued pursuing his passion at the Denver School of the Arts. He expanded his theatrical wings, earning roles with professional theatre companies in Colorado, including Town Hall Arts Center, where he played Travis Younger in Raisin.

Today, we are thrilled to celebrate an incredible milestone: Blake has made his Broadway debut in MJ the Musical!

“From Broadway to Broadway. Who knew that these beginnings at PAA on [South] Broadway would actually end up with my son on Broadway in NYC?  From the first time [hearing the opening line], ‘Nants ingonyama’ in his production of Lion King Jr., I knew the program was special. I recall saying, ‘Wow, they actually sound really good.’

 I was so impressed by what the staff could get out of the kids in 1-2 weeks, holding high expectations of each of them, while being reassuring and fun.

Blake is now having a blast, taking time away from his life as a 7th grader at Denver School of the Arts, to perform eight shows a week as Little Marlon (and understudy for Little Michael) in the Broadway production of MJ.
