In Intermediate Voice, students work on developing and refining the fundamental skills of vocal music as it is used in the art and practice of musical theatre and solo singing. The emphasis is on the practical application of vocal production on the stage as a part of a larger theatrical narrative. Instructional elements include vocal production (breathing, diction and placement), story telling, rhythmic and melodic sight reading, music theory, and stylistic interpretation of additional music genres, Classes and the final shareformance include short solos similar to a monologue in music form, duets, and ensemble pieces. Assignments are given each week.
