We are thrilled to be able to offer this 2-part online workshop this fall!

Theatre Master Classes and Workshops occur occasionally throughout the year and have short time frames for registration due the availability of the artist. In addition to local artists, PAA engages touring artists to the master class setting that want to help enhance our students experience in voice, dance, and acting.

If you’d like to be notified when when new theatre master classes and workshops are scheduled, subscribe to our mailing list.

Join us for this exclusive workshop series! Broadway weekends offers an immersive theatrical experience, connecting theater students directly to the artists at the heart of the Broadway industry. Improvisation is something we all day every day. It is simply making things up as you go along. It’s something we all know how to do. In a nutshell improv is unscripted entertainment. In improv class we will play games, invent scenes or entire plays/stories that are made up on the spot. Ideas and inspiration are often generated by the audience who provide a one word suggestion or stories from their own lives for example. The results can be funny, dramatic, weird and usually entertaining., usually comedy. Unlike stand-up, improv is typically more theatrical and involves a team of players performing together on stage. Part of the appeal of Improv is the inherent challenge and unpredictability. In class we will learn how to go with instincts. Some things will be hilarious and some will be hilarious because they are so bad. But the amazing thing about improv is -NOTHING IS EVER WRONG. There is joy in the uncomfortable, the only thing you need to bring is a good attitude and the ability to not take yourself too seriously.
